ULA Survey

To accommodate legions of critics, this summer, after I clear up a few matters and return to Earth, I hope to do another ULA Survey, with new questions sent to ULA members and interested observers, to find out where the organization is and where it should go. We do listen to suggestions!-- though we may not always seem to. Ultimately, no loose group like ours can move without rough consensus. (Results of the last survey are in Lit Fan Mag #2.)

Reading this post makes me want to do counter readings along the tours of irritating authors, like Franzen. Show up outside his reading and do a reading on the street where I read the really annoying, cloying passages.
That would be fun, the chief problem with it being that it would require me to read his book rather than something else more fun.

There are many ULAers that will read anywhere-- in subways or on streetcorners-- as Mark Sonnenfeld does. (I'm usually available if I'm somewhere in the, er, vicinity.)
I think what you suggest is something we'll definitely be doing.
(E-mail me a snail address sometime and I'll put you on the ULA mailing list-- which will resume sending out propaganda in about three weeks.)
