I like the straightforward approach to class/privilege.
Do many/any other novels today give direct challenges to power in this way? ---Or where power, at any rate, is treated for what it is rather than going ga-ga over it.
I've read a couple books recently where my jaw dropped at the presumption that the reader comes from the same background or where the class content put on parade then glossed over like there's no content there.
