The Parker

Interesting article by Steve Volk in a local paper (www.philadelphiaweekly.com) about this city's Parker Hotel, where I stayed recently for a year (room 821). It's also where I stayed when I first moved here in 2000. It's been a waystation for many writers over the years.

My own take on the place can be found on a August 19, 2005 post on this blog.

King, are you following the World Series? Detroit needs to get going, i was hoping they'd put up a better fight.

I'm disappointed-- but the Tigers have overachieved so one can't feel too bad about it.
I've never been to this ballpark-- was a regular at the old Tigers Stadium, sitting in the bleachers in the sun knocking down beers.
