I was referring to Tiger in the sense of a dominating figure-- which makes me then think first of Ernest Hemingway.

oh, yeah, i took at as the guy who upsets the applecart of the status quo, as tiger did via his race in the white-dominated sport of golf.

in your intended context, it would have to be stephen king, i think.
