I love this sort of question. Godzilla, in my opinion. In a steel cage, Kong loses the advantage of his agility. Godzilla can put his back in one corner and fire his fire-breath at Kong all day and just burn him up.

It was never clear which one had superior strength, so I'd almost say if Kong could get his hands on Godzilla it could be a fight, but I doubt he'd be able to do it and I think they are pretty comparable in terms of raw strength, based on the movies. Despite his small arms, Godzilla has power.

King Kong has stronger arms, but in leg strength they're similar. I expect that Godzilla could fend off KK with his legs and then flamebroil the big ape. However, if the flame breath was an automatic disqualification, it could be either one's match!

In a monster sized cage, Kong could climb around to avoid and confuse Godzilla. He'd overpower Godzilla in any close combat, and if weapons/projectiles are included in the cage, he'd have a better chance of using them effectively.

Godzilla has the fire breath, but also a tail-whip and electricified plates along his back. He's slow but tough enough to win this fight, and don't expect him to be distracted by any honey-blondes in the crowd.

Godzilla was like four times the size of King Kong, you guys. He towered over the skyline of Tokyo, while Kong fit snugly on the observation deck of the Empire State Building.

They were fairly well matched in the pop movie masterpiece, "King Kong vs Godzilla" (which had two different endings for audiences in the U.S. and Japan).
